Glossybox│June│First Impressions

On Saturday, my Glossybox arrived and I got SO excited once I opened that luxurious pink box, that I thought I’d do something a little different this month. If you’ve been reading my blog for a little while, then you’ll know that I do Birchbox vs. Glossybox comparison posts, but only once I’ve sampled each product enough to have a full opinion. That can take a little while, so I thought I’d compile my first impressions on the June boxes! So far, I’m lovingggg this month’s offering from Glossybox and it’s made me even more excited for next month’s! Honestly, these boxes turn you into a bit of a brat; you’re always left wanting more and more – even after the lovely peeps at Glossy HQ kindly included a sixth product this month! Anyway, on to the goodies…

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo, RRP £22.50

Beautybox June 4

I’m massively into the highlight hype, any extra glow is all good with me. You can dot this illuminating gel along your cheekbones for a sheer, highly (see what I did there?) pigmented, iridescent effect, or you can add it to your foundation to create an all-over, radiance-enhancing, dewy look. Whatever way you wear it, it’s bang on trend and is perfect for adding a summery vibe to your makeup look. Plus, Manna Kadar products are cruelty-free!

Beauty Pro Black Diamond Peel Off Mask, RRP £4.95 for 3

Beautybox June 8

If you’re like me, then you’ll have undoubtedly have seen many clips of people smoothing this black magic onto their faces and peeling it off with lots of (oddly satisfying) residue attached. It contains charcoal to balance and cleanse your skin and I’m SO happy to have received it this month. I’ve been dying to try one, so I’m looking forward to giving this a go.

Batiste Stylist Oomph My Locks XXL Volume Spray, RRP £4.29

Beautybox June 5

My hair is generally like a limp lettuce and it takes a LOT to try and make it retain any semblance of moisture. I got Batiste’s 2-in-1 conditioning dry shampoo in my March Birchbox and despised it with a fiery vengeance, so I was a little nervous about this product being equally disappointing. Oh contraire, my friends! I’ve only used it once, but so far, I love it! It adds Brigitte Bardot-esque oomph to your hair, whilst also working as a dry shampoo to keep your hair fresh between washes. Let the good hair continue!

Sleek Makeup Power Plump Lip Crayon, RRP £5.50

Beautybox June 6

This is bloody brilliant. I’ve worn it every day since receiving it on Saturday; it makes your lips deliciously tingly and they instantly look fuller and smoother. The colour is the kind of pinky-nude you wish your lips were naturally. This is a keeper.

111 Skin Space Defence Bright Eye Lift Gel, RRP £110 (wtf)

Beautybox June 10

This product comes from the boffins at Harley Street, so that explains the hefty price tag. It promises to reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles, whilst reducing puffiness and helping to maintain moisture. The sample is TINY, I’ve only used it twice and a lot of the product has gone. I can’t say I’ve seen too much of a difference so far, but I’ll stick at it because the promises are so high. Having said that, I have struggled to find anything concrete about their animal testing policy, so this will likely end up in the bin unless some solid confirmation surfaces that they’re against animal testing.

Himalaya (since 1930) Purifying Neem Face Wash, RRP £3.29

Beautybox June 11

Right, so I’ve never actually heard of neem, the apparent “wonder herb” that’s the active ingredient in this face wash, but this product is rather lovely. I’ve used it three times and it’s left my skin feeling fresh and healthy. Plus, Himalaya are completely against animal testing and stand for “good-for-earth practices”; all their herbs are organically grown and eco-friendly. Plus, what a bargain price!

I’m really happy with this month’s Glossybox and can’t wait to continue using the products. What do you think of the June box so far? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks for reading, chums!
