Hellooo, everybody! I was going to write about my June favourites and then realised it’s almost August (oops), so thought I’d combine the products I’ve been loving over the past two months. I can NOT believe it’s almost August! I’m off on my jollies tomorrow, so may not be posting for a couple of weeks – not that my posts have been the most regular as of late! Apologies once again, that will change as soon as I’m back on British soil next month.
Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette│£39
This is the perfect summer palette AND IT SMELLS OF PEACHES. I shit you not. It’s 18 creamy, blendable shades of perfection; from shimmery pinks, beautiful bronzes, cute corals and purple hues, to a range of essential mattes needed to create some top notch cut creases and just a dazzling array of versatile looks! This palette is all you need for making some serious summer magic.
Pixi by Petra Makeup Fixing Mist │£16
I was wandering aimlessly round my local M&S when, much to my absolute delight, I spotted the Pixi by Petra concession! I did go a little bit mad with my spending (how can you not, with such super cute cruelty-free products?!), but my current favourite right now is the Makeup Fixing Mist. It leaves my skin feeling so fresh, the fragrance is beaut and it sets your makeup perfectly. It can also be used throughout the day to freshen up your look and hydrate your skin. BLISS.
Spectrum Collections Jumbo Rain Glow Fan Brush│£19.99
You all know I am a Spectrum SUPER FAN, they are my absolute favourites and this gigantic fan brush is one of the latest additions to my ever-expanding collection of vegan makeup brushes by this wonderful company. The bristles are uber soft, they’re rainbow coloured (how effing cute) and it’s ideal for adding highlighter to your cheekbones, collar bones and body for a subtle shimmer. Or if you’re a “fan” (see what I did there?) of a more dramatic look, you can use it to build the intensity of your glow and GET LIT.
M&S Ragdale Hall Spa Time to Sleep Pillow & Body Mist │£5
I’ve never been the best at getting to sleep and often lie awake for hours on end, worrying, over-thinking and unable to switch off. At times, it’s worse than others and over the past few months, it’s been particularly bad and I’ve really been struggling to sleep. So, one of my lovely friends got me this pillow spray, infused with lavender and chamomile to promote relaxation and create a gorgeous, dreamy atmosphere. It has really been helping me to be calm and to nod off that little bit faster.
BareMinerals Gen Nude Radiant Lipstick in Tutu │£18
We’re all on the quest for that perfect nude shade, the “my lips but better” colour that works every single day and BareMinerals’ Gen Nude collection is pretty darn close to perfection. They’ve got an entire range of nude colours to suit all skin tones and each shade is a beautiful, buttery formula that glides on to your lips to create a buildable, radiant pop of subtle colour. Lately, I’ve been loving the shade Tutu, but I can tell my collection of these lipsticks is just going to keep on growing!
The Girls by Emma Cline│£7.99
Summer isn’t really summer without an extensive reading list! I devoured this book a couple of weeks ago and will be writing a full review shortly, so I won’t say too much about this book other than that it’s electric. It perfectly captures that gut-wrenching feeling of being on the precipice of adulthood, where you’re desperate to be noticed and seen for who you want to be, but you’re not confident or quite wise enough yet to know what to do about it. It illustrates the all too familiar desires and needs of a young adolescent, who then finds herself willingly caught up in the intricacies of a cult and the damaging effect it leaves on her life forever.
Booda Butter Daily Moisturiser & Lip Balm│USD $14 & $3.95
I was lucky enough to receive this little bundle of goodies in the post from Booda Organics, a 100% vegan, cruelty-free, non-GMO, organic company specialising in natural skincare products. The body butter is super moisturising and it leaves your skin feeling deliciously soft and supple. It does take a little while to soak into the skin, so if you’re like me, it’s probably best to use in the evenings when you’re not in a mad rush to get out of the door, like in the mornings! The lip balm is HEAVENLY. It glides on to your lips like velvet and leaves them feeling nourished and well moisturised – I won’t go to bed without putting it on, now!
Well that’s my latest round up of favourite things, all done and dusted! Thanks so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know what products you’ve been loving lately!
Thanks again chums,
Jess XO
