7 Amazing Cruelty Free Concealers to Hide Tired Under-Eyes

Are you the kind of person who spends your evenings tossing and turning, wishing for sleep to descend upon you like a golden cloak of comfort? Do you often wake up looking like you’ve battled Tyler Durden in an underground club you definitely can’t talk about? Yep, me too. My under eye bags are persistent little devils that take a major plan of attack to vanquish. Luckily, I’ve found the perfect team mates to help out:

BareMinerals BarePro 16 Hour Full Coverage Concealer | £23

This creamy formula glides on effortlessly thanks to a sleek and compact flat-edge design. The full coverage concoction manages to banish my purple shadows in a flash! The only downside is that it does like to settle in fine lines, so you do need to touch it up a tad throughout the day – nothing major, a little pattering of your fingertips to blend any build up tends to do the trick.

Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealer | £4.49

A complete bargain at less than a fiver, Barry M comes to the tired girl’s rescue! Lightweight and light reflecting, it bats away under-eye darkness to provide a fresh, luminous and revitalised appearance. The feather-light formula doesn’t cake or settle in fine lines and manages to stay put all day long. This is always in my makeup bag!

Pixi Beauty Pat Away Concealing Base | £16

This is a full coverage concealer that can be used on its own or mixed into your moisturiser for a lighter, more sheer look. It hides all the tell tale signs of late nights brilliantly, with a large, rounded applicator reminiscent of your fingertip – though it is somewhat of an effort to wrestle out of the compact container! It can be a little drying, so make sure you’ve applied your eye cream before use. An added bonus? A little goes a long way with this one!

Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer | £20

This little wonder contains coconut oil to keep your delicate under-eye area well nourished, whilst still hiding bags and shadows quite effectively. It’s brilliantly buildable, gorgeously creamy and blends like a dream. You do need to apply quite a lot if your lack of sleep is as prolific as mine…

Liz Earle Light Reflecting Concealer | £16.50

I didn’t get off to the best start with this lightweight product, but my mother didn’t raise a quitter. The main problem was that the lightest shade wasn’t quite pale enough for my ghostly complexion, a common problem for corpse brides like myself, so I tried it on top of my trusty BareMinerals BarePro concealer. It diminished the line settling effect of BarePro and made my under-eyes shine bright like a diamond. A healthy, well-rested, flesh coloured diamond, that is. I’m besotted!

Urban Decay Naked Skin | £19.50

This is a thick, full coverage creation that manages to conceal monster spots (winning!) and decades of bad sleeping patterns. It builds beautifully and covers a multitude of flaws without caking or settling into lines or pores. Rich in green tea, it doesn’t overload the delicate under-eye area, instead managing to brighten and even out your skin tone, leaving a radiant finish. This is my go-to after a big night out; it manages to convince all and sundry that I am actually okay, despite attempting to function like a regular human on a poxy four hours of sleep.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under-Eye Illumination | £23.50

This award winning concealer has been popping up on my Instagram feed left, right and centre and I couldn’t scroll past it any longer! As soon as it arrived, I eagerly slathered it under my eyes to watch my dark shadows disappear and brighten instantly. Developed with plastic surgeons (fancy), it’s paraben free, anti-ageing and rich in antioxidants. It’s also waterproof and managed to stay put after an intense gym-session, so I’m not surprised that it’s taking the beauty world by storm!

There are still TONNES of concealers I’m dying to try (Tarte’s Shape Tape is calling my name), but for now, this is my A Team. What are your favourite concealers? Let me know in the comments below!

Much love,
